Wax weight is derived from container fluid volume — 1 fl oz equals 29.57 ml. Multiply by the wax’s density and the 85% fill rule (leaves room for the wick tab plus melt pool expansion) to get the grams of wax per candle.
Fragrance oil is weighed as a percentage of the wax, not the finished candle. 8% is a solid medium-strong starting point for most soy and paraffin; drop to 6% for beeswax so the honey note still comes through.
