Fragrance oil is always measured by weight as a percentage of the wax. 6% medium throw covers most living spaces; 8-10% is for large rooms or cold-throw-heavy recipes. Going above the manufacturer max-load doesn’t make the candle stronger — the wax just can’t bind the excess and it leaches out.
Beeswax holds far less fragrance than soy or paraffin (~6% max) because it’s a harder, less porous wax. Coconut blends are the most forgiving, handling up to 12%.
